We are pretty lucky where we live, as we have access to a CSA where we get our (very) free range chickens. They are SUPER expensive, but I stretch them into about 3 meals, so I justify it that way at least. When I need chicken in a pinch, I run to Whole Foods and always grab the free range. Sadly, it may not mean that much with regards to USDA restrictions, but they are local, so that makes me feel better.
